History of IOOF
Our history in New Zealand
Prior to being called IOOF, we were known as Plan B Wealth Management.
Plan B had been working with Strategic Asset Management in New Zealand for many years, finally merging the two companies fully by 2007 when Plan B acquired 100 per cent of Strategic Asset Management.
IOOF acquired Plan B in 2012 and rebranded the New Zealand arm from Plan B Wealth Management to IOOF in November 2013.
Our history in Australia
IOOF originated in Melbourne, Australia in 1846 as a friendly society. By the late 1980s, IOOF was the largest friendly society in Australia, with approximately 200,000 members. IOOF demutualised in 2002 and then listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) in 2003 (ASX:IFL). For more information about our Australian history, click here.
